The 7x7 construction consists of 7 individual wires laid in a spiral around a center King wire to form a strand. Seven strands are then wound together to form a cable. The cable is then coated in a clear sheath of vinyl for added weather resistance. This construction provides good strength, good flexibility and good abrasion resistance. Remove sections of the vinyl coating when using cable accessories, like sleeves, clips or thimbles. The steel cable must be in contact with the accessory to ensure a secure grip.
