Condensate Cop is a unique clamp-on float switch intended for HVAC drain pan installation. The Condensate Cop features a large over-clamping area that fits easily over the edge of all types of drain pans; including formed plastic and galvanized sheet metal. A separate float/probe assembly swivels to accommodate drain pans having sloped sides. The swivel action allows the installer to position the float switch for best operation and then clamp it into plAce. Sealed inside the probe is a magnetically actuated normally closed switch. The switch opens when rising water presents a potential flooding condition. 2 wire connection for easy hook up to a thermostat circuit.
- Installs in just minutes in the primary or auxiliary drain line and are also quick and easy to access if service is required
- Probe features an inlet grill which prevents the float from being blocked or damaged by insulation or other debris
- Condensate cop may be installed horizontally or vertically depending on the location and positioning of the drain line which makes installation faster and easier
- Designed to use proven magnetic reed switch technology to ensure proper operation and prevent costly problems
- Shuts off the system when water backs up in the drain line due to a clogged line preventing costly damage to equipment, floors, walls and ceilings
- Switches confirm to UL 508 standards and also comply with applicable NEC codes and is ETL listed as file number 3166285
Drain pans are installed underneath an air handler or furnace installed in an attic or basement. Its purpose is home safety: in the event of an overflow or leak water due to a malfunction of the equipment, the water will be caught in the pan and drained away through a drain hose. This will keep the water from draining onto the ceiling below. Some cities require by code that this secondary drain pan be installed for all attic air conditioning, air handler or evaporator coil installations. Be on the safe side, and install a drain pan with a safety float switch in your home system.
- Diversitech A/C secondary plastic condensate drain pan is vacuum-formed from general-purpose acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) plastic
- Rolled edges for durability, ribbed bottoms for rigidity, and reinforced corners for strength
- All these drain pans will hold 2 in. of water and are equipped with a 3/4 in. PVC fittings
- No seams, no rust, and no leakage
- Available in over 20 convenient sizes
- Complies with southern building code
- Used to collect condensate from cooling and evaporator coils in locations where damage to any building component could occur as a result of overflow from the equipment drain pan or stoppage of the condensate drain piping
- Pan will contain a depth of 2 in. (50.8 mm) of water, and come equipped with a 3/4 in. Dia PVC discharge fitting
- Rough inside, smooth outside
- Second stage condensate containment
Drain pans collect condensation to prevent leakage in walls and ceilings due to moisture run-off from primary AC pans. Galvanized steel construction with attached PVC fitting. Locate under HVAC unit and attach to 3/4 in. drain line (not included).
- 2-1/2 in. deep with hemmed edge
- Folded corners
