There are 2 types of DWV plastic: ABS (black plastic) and PVC (white plastic). The Tectite by Apollo IPS Brass Push-To-Connect x CTS Street Transition Adapter is a reliable and versatile fitting designed to allow the user to transition from CTS (copper tube sized) pipe to IPS (iron pipe sized) pipe, typically PVC utilizing push-to-connect technology. The transition adapter has a IPS push-to-connect end indicated by the white collar and a CTS sized street or stem on the opposing end which is suitable for insertion into any existing or new CTS sized push-to-connect fitting. This versatility allows limitless options when it comes to converting from CTS to IPS sized pipes. Tectite by Apollo push-to-connect fittings are the cleanest and simplest way to join any combination of copper, CPVC, PE-RT and PEX pipe without the use of tools, solder, open flame or glue. Simply insert the pipe to allow the high-strength stainless steel teeth to grip the pipe securely against the specially designed O-ring. Fitting removal and reuse is just as simple using a simple demount clip (sold separately). After assembly, fittings may be rotated for simpler installation in tight spaces.
