Hex head machine screws have 6 flat sides and a flat bearing surface. Machine screws are used with nuts or screwed directly into a tapped hole to fasten components together. Length of hex head machine screws are measured from underneath the head to the point of the screw.

• Use appropriate hex driver size for installation as follows: #4 diameter use 3/16 in. #6 diameter use 1/4 in. #8 diameter use 1/4 in. #10 diameter use 5/16 in., 1/4 in. Dia use 3/8 in.
