The 1/2 in. slip-fit mount is designed to be used on 1/2 in. non-threaded pipes even though they may have different outside diameters. The different seals and the split ring adapter all ship with the slip-fit mount. The ideal pipe length (measured from the wall) for using the slip-fit mount is 1-1/2 in. however, pipe lengths measuring from 1-1/4 in. to 1-3/4 in. are acceptable. A trim plate (escutcheon plate) ships with the auto diverting tub spout. It has a depth of 3/8 in. and can be used to fill a gap between the wall and the back of the tub spout. It can also be used to cosmetically cover larger access openings to the tub spout's water supply. If using the trim plate, be sure to add its depth (3/8 in.) to the pipe length measurements previously provided. Note that the 1/2 in. slip-fit mount can also be used on 1/2 in. threaded pipes if the threads can be cut-off and the pipe measures 1-1/4 in. to 1-3/4 in. after doing so. Evolve auto diverting tub spout systems with part numbers ending in CT-CS do not include the tub spout mounts.
