Break Room Essentials

Increase Productivity
In a fast-paced work environment, keeping employees productive and inspired can be a challenge. One of the easiest solutions is to create a break room environment that’s both welcoming and fully stocked.
Deliver a break room experience that works for your business and keeps your employees energized and engaged.

Encourage Breaks
Approximately 78% of employees say that flexible work benefits make them more productive.1 Encouraging breaks is a great way to give your employees time to relax, grab a coffee, socialize, eat and unwind during a busy workday. Studies show that small breaks can have an increased positive affect at work, which predicts greater performance.2
Offer Good Coffee
Providing quality coffee in the workplace can have many benefits, including increased productivity. Not only are associates less likely to leave the office in seek of a brand-name coffee, a recent study by Keurig revealed that 89% of office workers feel a good cup of coffee makes their entire workday better. Additionally, 84% of coffee drinkers agree having good coffee in the office is an important perk, and more than half wish their company would offer better quality coffee.3 Associates who don’t drink coffee similarly enjoy a variety of teas and a full water cooler.

Keep Your Break Room Stocked
In addition to stocking your break room with coffee to keep associates satisfied and productive, it’s equally important to have the right accoutrements on hand. Offer creamers, sweeteners and stirrers so employees can customize their coffee or tea. Keeping the right sized cups, lids and napkins readily available will also make coffee breaks smooth and easy for employees.
Provide a Welcoming Space
Provide a break room that is calming, clean and welcoming for your staff to ensure that breaks are energizing and reduce stress. Consider tables and seating that allow for socializing, with comfortable lighting and calming wall colors. Keep your break room clean with food grade sanitizers and disinfectants or wipes. Make sure you have the right sized waste containers and bags to support the number of associates utilizing the break room.
