An air conditioning disconnect (ACD) is a disconnect located between a loadcenter (distribution panel) and air conditioner. Eaton's ACD product line provides an installer or repair personnel with a visible disconnecting means when performing maintenance. ACDs are also known as disconnects, pullouts or air conditioning switches.The most widely used application for ACDs is for residential and light commercial air conditioning units. An ACD is installed outdoors, in visible proximity to the air conditioner condensing unit. Metallic enclosures are galvanized steel and are installed in various locations. Nonmetallic enclosures are a plastic (polycarbonate) enclosure commonly used in coastal or salt-water areas.

The Eaton Cutler-Hammer 60 Amp 120/240-Volt 14,400-Watt Fused Air Conditioning Disconnect is ANSI certified and CSA and UL listed. The unit has a metallic enclosure and is rated for outdoor use. The fused disconnect is compatible with class H fuses and is intended to disconnect power from an air-conditioning unit.
